Development relevance: Road traffic injuries and deaths is a major global public health problem. Road traffic crashes are currently the leading cause of death for children and young adults in the world. There is a strong association between the risk of road traffic death and the income level of countries. The burden of road traffic deaths is disproportionately high among low- and middle-income countries.
