TOP 3 countries with highest HIV infection rates

The HIV prevalence index measures the proportion of people aged 15–49 who are living with HIV. From 2012 to 2021, South Africa, Lesotho, and Zimbabwe were among the countries with the highest infection rates. In 2012, Lesotho had the highest prevalence rate at 24.6% of the population. In the following years, both Lesotho and Zimbabwe saw a slight decline in their HIV prevalence rates. Meanwhile, rates in South Africa have remained relatively stable.
