Government Effectiveness captures perceptions of the quality of public services, the quality of the civil service and its degree of independence from political pressures, the quality of policy formulation and implementation, and the credibility of the government's commitment to those policies. The score is expressed in units of the standard normal distribution, typically ranging between -2.5 and +2.5. The chart displays Government Effectiveness and perceptions of public service quality for the Gulf countries (Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain) over a decade from 2013 to 2022.
