Government Effectiveness captures perceptions of the quality of public services, the quality of the civil service and its degree of independence from political pressures, the quality of policy formulation and implementation, and the credibility of the government's commitment to those policies. The score is expressed in units of the standard normal distribution and typically ranges from -2.5 to +2.5. The chart displays Government Effectiveness scores for five MENA countries (Israel, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, and Turkey) over the decade from 2013 to 2022.
