Lebanon : Government Expenditure as a Share of GDP
Expenses are cash payments for a government's operational activities in providing goods and services. These expenses include employee compensation (such as wages and salaries), interest, subsidies, grants, social benefits, and other expenses such as rent and dividends. The chart displays expenditure rates as a percentage of GDP in Lebanon over a 22-year period from 2000 to 2021. During this period, Lebanon experienced expenditure rates between 22% and 30%, but by 2021, the expenditure as a percentage of GDP had dropped to 6.30%.
