Air Transport in Turkiye : Annual Passenger Counts

The "Air transport, passengers carried" indicator refers to the total number of passengers traveling by air during the year. This indicator includes all passengers carried on commercial flights, including domestic and international flights. The graph shows the number of air transport passengers carried in Turkey over a 22-year period from 2000 to 2021. Turkey experienced an increase in passenger numbers nearly every year, with the number of air transport passengers reaching 116 million in 2018. However, due to the global COVID-19 crisis, this number dropped significantly to 44 million in 2020. In 2021, the number of travelers increased slightly to 69 million.
