The Syrian Democratic Council: Political Leadership

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) is the political leadership of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Established in 2015, it is a confederation of multi-ethnic political parties, civil society organizations, and activists advocating for democracy, religious freedom, individual rights, and women's empowerment in Syria. The SDC plays a crucial role in shaping governance and policy in North and East Syria, working in partnership with the United States and the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.
