Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi

Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah since 1974, has played a key role in the emirate’s economic, cultural, and educational development. He established the Fujairah Free Zone (1987) and Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (2011) to boost investment and trade. Passionate about education and culture, he founded the Fujairah Social and Cultural Association (1990) and Fujairah Culture and Media Authority (2006). His efforts have positioned Fujairah as a global hub for business, tourism, and the arts. Born in 1948, he studied in the UK, including at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
