Turkey has a republican government with a presidential system, adopted through a constitutional amendment in 2017 and implemented following the 2018 elections. The President serves as both the head of state and head of government, wielding broad executive powers. Although there is a formal separation of powers among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, the executive—led by the President—holds significant influence over the other branches.
